A December to Remember

Hard to believe the girls have joined Kuba on the Quantum of the Seas for the 3rd time - 2 summers in 2017 & 2018 and now for the 2018 holidays. Always an adventure, always memorable and always educational. Let’s see … what did we take home this time?

  1. Christmas can be celebrated with a child anywhere, even in a tiny crew cabin in the east China seas.

  2. A live holiday concert on Christmas Eve is the perfect way to get in the spirit.

  3. The Chinese & Japanese love to celebrate Christmas even if they are mostly (if not exclusively) obsessed with our Western holiday music & decorations. After that, it’s business as usual and stores are open December 25.

We are always grateful to corporate & crew at RCCL for making these family get-togethers possible, “breaking up” the long contracts for Kuba. Without them, his girls would be so sad with him being away so long and he wouldn’t enjoy his time onboard nearly as much. Needless to say, the best of both worlds combined to make this a December to remember.

Rebecca Lowe

On stage, Rebecca is best known for her roles in “Evita”, both as Peron’s Mistress & the title role of Eva and in “Jekyll & Hyde” as Lucy. She has Performed these roles all over the world to standing ovations and critical acclaim. Rebecca's concert cabaret incorporates contemporary songs from Broadway musicals such as Les Miserables & Jekyll and Hyde, as well as the current hits of country radio with songs made famous by Reba McEntire & Martina McBride, among others. She finds the connection between the two genres to be their passion and storytelling qualities. With Rebecca's easy to get to know personality, the audience not only feels an identity with the songs, but with the singer as well. She’s not just a powerful voice -– she connects. Rebecca regularly tours the United States and also makes guest appearances onboard various cruise lines while often sharing the stage with her husband, Kuba Kawnik, a multi-instrumentalist who is best known for his performance on the vibraphone and theremin. They live in Nashville, Tennessee with their daughter, Rozalia.
